Jennifer de Nijs

Jennifer de Nijs leads the Ministry’s Department of the Development of the Financial Center.
Jennifer has dedicated significant years to developing sustainable finance in Luxembourg, most notably through her 8-year tenure as the Head of Sustainable Finance at the Ministry of Finance. Her efforts have contributed to the growth of sustainable finance in Luxembourg and beyond, with an initial emphasis on climate, and now also integrating social aspects like gender finance.
She has played a key role in the establishment of a number of Luxembourg based initiatives, notably: the Luxembourg Sustainable Finance Initiative (LSFI), which she helped set up and is now board President; the International Climate Finance Accelerator (ICFA) whose board she chaired in its foundational phase, and the Luxembourg Gender Finance Task Force, which she launched and chairs. Furthermore, she holds key strategic positions as a board member of the SDG Impact Finance Initiative and presides over the board of the Luxembourg Earth Impact Fund (LEIF).
Previous to her government position, Jennifer worked at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, in civil society organisations including Caritas Luxembourg and the European Youth Forum, and in the private sector at Clearstream and American Express.
Timothée Jaulin
Head of Responsible Investment Development & Advocacy, Amundi

Timothée Jaulin was appointed Head of Responsible Investment Development and Advocacy as of 1st September 2020. In this position, he manages a global team contributing to responsible investment products, solutions and services’ development across Amundi business lines and investment platforms. His roles and responsibilities include managing Amundi’s advocacy work and strategic partnerships supporting Amundi’s Responsible Investment development plans (Net Zero, impact and belnded finance, etc.).
He joined Amundi in 2012 as a Research Associate, and then contributed to the setting-up and development of the Investment Solutions team before being in charge of the coverage of supranational entities globally. In his different roles, he has been closely involved in the development of some of Amundi’s flagship responsible investment solutions. Timothée was notably involved in the launch of flagship public-private partnerships such as the Portfolio Decarbonization Coalition with the United Nations Environment Program, climate finance development programs with the International Finance Corporation and the European Investment Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
Prior to working in Amundi Paris headquarters, Timothée worked for Amundi in London and New York and for the French Treasury in Washington D.C. Timothée is a graduate from the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay and holds a Master in Theoretical and Applied Economics from the Paris School of Economics.
Anke Klein
Managing Director, Investment Company Institute Brussels

Anke Klein is Managing Director of the Investment Company Institute’s Brussels office. Before joining ICI, she worked as a consultant.
Prior to that, she served as an Alderperson (Deputy Mayor) of the City of Utrecht. Anke has almost 20 years of experience in financial services policy. She served as Financial Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Kingdom of The Netherlands to the EU. During the Dutch Presidency of the Council, she led negotiations on behalf of the (back then) 28 Member States with the European Parliament and the European Commission on Financial Services. After moving to Amsterdam, she worked as Programme Manager, Innovation & FinTech at the Dutch Central Bank (DNB), in close cooperation with the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and the European Central Bank. She started her career at the Dutch Ministry of Finance.
Carl Tannenbaum
Chief Economist, Northern Trust

Carl Tannenbaum is the Chief Economist for Northern Trust. In this role, he briefs clients and colleagues on the economy and business conditions, prepares the bank’s official economic outlook and participates in forecast surveys. He is a member of Northern Trust’s investment policy committee, its capital committee, and its asset/liability management committee.
Carl publishes weekly commentaries and is frequently interviewed by media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, the New York Times and Reuters.
Prior to joining Northern Trust, Carl spent four years leading the Federal Reserve’s risk section. He was deeply involved in the central bank’s response to the 2008 financial crisis, helped to create and conduct its stress testing program, and advised senior Federal Reserve leaders on developments in banking and the financial markets.
Carl is a member and past chairman of the American Bankers Association Economic Advisory Committee, the National Association for Business Economics, the Conference of Business Economists and the North American Asset/Liability Management Association. He also serves on the board of Working in the Schools (WITS), a literacy organization that supports the Chicago public school system.
Carl holds an M.B.A. and a B.A. in finance and economics from the University of Chicago.
Tom Théobald
CEO, Luxembourg for Finance

Tom Théobald is CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, the Agency for the Development of the Financial Centre.
Previously, he served as Director for the Development of the Financial Centre at the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance. Tom sits on the Advisory Board of the Department of Finance of the University of Luxembourg, is Board member of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT), and was a member of the Luxembourg Trade & Investment Board, as well as a member of the Management Board of the National Data Exchange Platform (PNED G.I.E.).
Prior to joining the Ministry in March 2019, Tom was Deputy CEO of Luxembourg for Finance from 2014 to 2019. He worked as Adviser at the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), where he was in charge of Communication and Press Relations. He also held the position of Secretary of the ABBL Board of Directors and served as an attaché to the Permanent Mission of Luxembourg to the United Nations in New York.
Tom holds a Doctorate in English Literature from Newcastle University in the UK.
Benoît Theunissen
Adviser - Policy and Regulatory Affairs, Luxembourg for Finance

Benoît Theunissen is a Policy and Regulatory Affairs Advisor with Luxembourg for Finance. In this role, he specializes in the analysis and monitoring of regulatory developments spanning local, European, and international spheres. Alongside this, he engages in broader strategic analysis, encompassing political and market intelligence and offering guidance on a range of sustainable finance issues.
Before joining Luxembourg for Finance, Benoît Theunissen worked as a business and financial journalist, including roles as an EU-accredited correspondent and Editor-in-Chief. Additionally, he has experience in financial crime compliance and forensic auditing, where he assisted diverse sectors including oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. His role extended to aiding financial institutions ranging from depositary and custodian banks to international clearinghouses and retail banks. His focus was on developing and implementing compliance frameworks for anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, anti-corruption, as well as enforcing international sanctions and restrictive measures in various jurisdictions.
