The cooperation agreement, which came into effect on 17 April, sets out a framework facilitating collaboration between the two financial centres.
Chairman of the FSDC, Laurence Li SC, noted that “the signing of the MoU marks another important step in our efforts to promote the development of the financial services industry in Hong Kong, as well as forging a stronger partnership between Hong Kong and Luxembourg.”
The joint commitments include the exchange of best practices and knowledge between LFF and FSDC in areas of mutual interest. This includes actions to promote their respective markets, as well as the exchange of information on market trends and regulatory developments.
Furthermore, the MoU also aims to enhance cooperation relating to research programmes, workshops, training, and education programmes in finance; strengthening knowledge in areas such as talent attraction, sustainable finance, and FinTech which are of strategic importance.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the FSDC to share best practices and knowledge for the development of the financial services industry. This MoU will allow us to further strengthen our relationship and deepen our cooperation in multiple fields” said Nicolas Mackel, CEO of LFF.
