Luxembourg’s expertise in key areas such as investment funds, banking, capital markets, insurance and its leadership in sustainable finance has placed the Grand Duchy as the 2nd financial centre in the EU.
Commenting on the ranking, Nicolas Mackel, CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, noted that “Luxembourg continues to strive towards excellence in its role as a cross-border financial hub. The importance of free-flowing international capital cannot be understated at this pivotal moment of economic recovery and this is exactly where the added value of Luxembourg expertise comes into play.”
The GFCI is published by Z/Yen Partners in collaboration with the China Development Institute and is the world’s most recognised comparison of the competitiveness of global financial centres.
