Malcolm Roberts, FM’s president and CEO, highlighted the significance of this development, stating: “We are proud to increase our presence in Luxembourg and the wider EMEA region. As FM continues to grow globally, we are adapting and integrating local standards, practices and knowledge into our platform.”
Luxembourg’s central geographical position in Europe offers FM Global convenient access to key markets and clients across the continent, facilitating efficient collaboration and service delivery to customers in neighbouring countries, including France and Germany.
Luxembourg is already home to FM’s European Union headquarters, making this new centre a significant expansion of its existing operations in the country. The new centre will primarily focus on research related to climate hazards, industrial technologies, and cyber risk loss prevention, leveraging Luxembourg’s strong data-driven innovation infrastructure. Additionally, the facility will create a collaborative environment for FM Global’s customers, prospects, colleagues, and partners to train and learn through experiential laboratories.
This strategic move by FM not only strengthens its support and resources for EMEA customers but also enhances Luxembourg’s position as a hub for research and innovation in the insurance sector.
